What Is Spraycrete?
Spraycrete is a cement-based polymer overlay that's sprayed onto existing concrete, then trowelled and sealed. Instead of ripping out a tired slab and pouring a new one, we apply a thin decorative coating - around 2 to 3 millimetres - that bonds to the concrete underneath. The result is a fresh, textured surface that hides years of stains and wear, finished in days rather than weeks.
Sprayed On, Not Poured
The overlay is mixed on site and sprayed on in even coats, which is where the texture comes from. That texture gives spraycrete real grip underfoot - a big plus around pools and on sloped driveways.
Works on Most Concrete Surfaces
Driveways, patios, pool surrounds, paths and alfresco areas - if the slab is structurally sound, spraycrete can go over it. Minor cracks and chips are patched during preparation.
A Fraction of Replacement Cost
Removing and re-pouring concrete means excavators, skip bins, weeks of curing and a bill that often starts at $150 per square metre. Spraycrete resurfaces the same area for far less, with no demolition.
Built for the Queensland Sun
The overlay is locked in with a UV-stable sealer that resists fading, staining and moisture. Resealed every few years, a spraycrete surface has a working life of 20-plus years.
The Benefits of Spraycrete Resurfacing
Spraycrete earns its keep in three ways: it fixes the look of worn concrete, it adds grip, and
it shields the slab underneath from further damage.
Because the overlay is sprayed
rather than poured, it follows the shape of your existing concrete - no formwork, no new slab,
no waiting weeks for a pour to cure. Prep to final seal usually takes two to three
days.
Spraycrete is one of the overlay systems behind our
driveway and concrete resurfacing service, and
every square metre we spray is backed by a 5-year written workmanship warranty.

How We Apply Spraycrete in 4 Steps
One crew handles the whole job, from grinding and prep through to the final coat of sealer. Here's how a typical spraycrete project runs.
Step 1: Free On-Site Assessment
We check your slab is a good candidate for spraycrete, look at drainage and access, talk colours, and give you a fixed price on the spot. About 20 minutes, no obligation.
Step 2: Surface Preparation
We grind back the old surface, pressure clean it, and patch cracks and chips so the overlay has a sound base to bond to. Walls, gardens and fixtures are masked off before any spraying starts.
Step 3: Spraying the Overlay
The cement-polymer mix is sprayed on with a hopper gun in even coats, building up your chosen colour and texture. Stencil patterns and borders are laid between coats. Most areas are sprayed over one to two days.
Step 4: Final Seal and Walkthrough
Two coats of UV-stable sealer lock in the colour and guard against stains, tyre marks and the Queensland sun. We walk you through curing times and care, then hand over your 5-year written warranty.

How Much Does Spraycrete Cost?
Most spraycrete work lands between $50 and $100 per square metre including sealing. Where your job sits in that range comes down to the condition of the slab, how much preparation it needs, the finish you pick and how easy the site is to access - stencil patterns and decorative borders sit at the upper end. For comparison, ripping out and re-pouring concrete usually starts around $150 per square metre before demolition and disposal. Spraycrete vs Covercrete: What's the Difference?
Both are cement-based resurfacing overlays, and CoatPro installs both.
Spraycrete is
sprayed on through a hopper gun, which leaves a consistent texture with natural grip.
Covercrete is trowelled on by hand, which suits smoother, more heavily patterned
finishes.
The right system depends on your surface and the look you're after - we
sort that out at the free on-site assessment.
Spraycrete: sprayed on, textured, naturally slip-resistant
Covercrete: trowel-applied for smoother decorative finishes
Same prep, same sealer and the same 5-year warranty on both
Spraycrete Colours, Textures & Stencil Patterns
Colour comes from oxides mixed through the overlay and tint in the sealer, so it won't
peel or flake off like paint.
Popular picks around Brisbane and the Gold Coast include
Greystone, Graphite, Shale and Midnight Blue, usually paired with a contrasting fleck or a
stencilled border.

FAQs
Straight answers to the questions we get asked most about spraycrete.
A blend of cement, graded sands and liquid polymers, mixed on site and sprayed over your existing concrete at around 2 to 3 millimetres thick. The polymer content is what makes it bond tightly to the old slab and cope with heat, movement and traffic.
Any structurally sound external concrete: driveways, patios, pool surrounds, paths, porches, stairs and alfresco areas. It's especially popular around pools because the texture still grips with wet feet.
Hairline and minor cracks are ground out and patched during preparation, and the overlay hides them completely. If a slab has major structural cracking or movement we'll tell you at the assessment, because sometimes a section needs repair before it's worth coating.
Most residential jobs run two to three days from prep to final seal, weather permitting. A fair chunk of that is drying time between coats, so you're not living on a work site for long.
Foot traffic is fine after about 24 hours. Keep cars off a resurfaced driveway for three to five days while the sealer fully cures - we'll give you exact times at handover.
Dozens - solid colours, two-tone flecks and stencilled patterns like tile, slate and brick. The colour is oxide-based and sealed in, so it won't peel like paint. The CCS Stylepave colour card covers the full range, and we bring samples to every quote.
Significantly. Replacement means demolition, disposal, a new pour and weeks of curing, and it usually starts around $150 per square metre. Spraycrete typically lands between $50 and $100 per square metre, and you're using the area again within days.
Sweep it, hose it, and wash it occasionally with a mild detergent - no harsh acids or degreasers. A fresh coat of sealer every three to five years keeps the colour sharp, and looked after that way the surface will last 20-plus years. Our workmanship is covered by a 5-year written warranty.
No. The sprayed application leaves a fine texture that gives better grip than smooth or painted concrete, wet or dry. That's why it's the standard finish for Queensland pool surrounds.
